breakfast potlucks resume!... with an important change

We resumed our monthly potluck breakfasts in August to a good crowd and great food (see below for a note about the history of the breakfasts). Though the COVID pandemic has taken new turns, and the state of Illinois has instituted an indoor mask mandate for all persons, regardless of vaccination status, we've decided to NOT to cancel upcoming breakfasts, principally because nearly every one of our people is vaccinated, and we can easily comply with the new mask mandate.

We invite you to join us on the first Sunday of every month, at 9:00 a.m. for the meal (9:00 a.m. is the new start time for the breakfasts since our Bible study group has graciously agreed to meet at 8:00 a.m. on the first Sundays of months). The "rule" for our potlucks has not and will not change: Bring food to share if you can or want to. But if you can't or don't want to bring food, COME ANYWAY. God ALWAYS provides!

One other "rule" for the meals, at least for now: Please wear a mask when you enter the building and keep it on until you are seated at a table. After you finish your meal and move away from the table, please resume wearing your mask.

[NOTE: We comply with all state guidance regarding public health measures to combat the COVID pandemic NOT out of political interest, but to contribute to the protection of public health.]

join us as we renew a long-standing (AND DELICIOUS) TRADITION

In June 2011, we launched a series of first-Sunday-of-the-month breakfast potlucks that continued without interruption into last year... when the COVID-19 pandemic brought a sudden and necessary halt to all of our in-person ministries.

BUT THE POTLUCKS ARE COMING BACK!

We invite you to join us as we renew our monthly breakfast tradition on the first Sunday of every month, at 9:00 a.m. in fellowship hall, on our building's lower level.

Since this is a potluck, you might wonder what you should bring. We have a long-standing rule when it comes to potluck meals: Bring food to share if you can and want to, but if you can't (or don't want to) bring food, COME ANYWAY! God ALWAYS provides!

If you decide to bring food, what you bring is up to you:

  • Eggs
  • Bacon
  • Breakfast casseroles
  • Pastries
  • Fruit
  • Yogurt, etc.
  • WHATEVER YOU BRING WILL BLESS US!

Our pastor makes a breakfast pizza. We prepare Belgian waffles and coffee on-site. Just come and be part of this important connection time for our church.

NOTE: If you're familiar with the history of  our breakfast potlucks, you may recall that we always held them at 8:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of each month. We still hold them on the first Sunday of months, but until further notice, we've moved the meals to 9:00 a.m. thanks to our Sunday Bible study group's willingness to move their sessions to 8:00 a.m. on potluck days.
