Thanks to progress in our communities', states', and nation's fights against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Quad Cities was able to renew its annual fourth of July fireworks tradition called "Red, White, & Boom" in the summer of 2021 over the Mississippi River, which, of course, separates Illinois and Iowa. In years past, Pastor Bill Coley has captured great images from the riverbank, but this year he stationed himself on a hill in Rock Island, about a mile from the action.
