October, November, and December are some of the busiest months of the year at FCCEM, particularly this year, with our centennial celebration and Trunk or Treat in October, Operation Christmas Child and Thanksgiving in November, and this month of preparation for Christmas. Here's a brief look at what's happening at our church over the next few weeks. We'd love to welcome you to any of the events that interest you. Need more info? Here's a link to our CONTACT US page.

December at FCCEM

  • DECEMBER 7: We ring the bell for the salvation Army

This is our 18th consecutive year of participation in the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign. Visit the Moline Walmart's merchandise entrance on Saturday, December 7, from 10:00am-2:00pm, and you'll find one of our team members wearing the apron and ringing the bell as a way to solicit donations from Christmas shoppers. Our team would love to see you (and to welcome your donation to a GREAT cause!) If you're in the neighborhood, stop by!

  • DECEMBER 7: A tour of quad cities-area Christmas lights

Join us this weekend as we take in some of the more notable Christmas light displays in homes and neighborhoods around the Quad Cities. To much satisfaction, we made a similar tour as part of last December's Centennial event. We hope to experience similar joy this weekend.

Come to the church on Saturday so that we can share rides in a caravan that will leave at 6:00 p.m.

  • December 14: THE GENESEO CHRISTMAS WALK

The other part of last December's Centennial event  was an experience of the Geneseo Christmas Walk. That too was a great experience for participants, so we're headed back to Geneseo on Saturday, December 14.

We'll drive to the city, find places to park, and then enjoy the sights, sounds, shopping, food, and lighted parade of the Walk. If you want to join us, meet at the church to share rides that will leave at noon. Wear comfortable shoes, dress for the weather, plan to eat a late lunch with the group, and expect a great experience!

  • DECEMBER 15: a christmas Cookie exchange

In recent years a cookie exchange has become a Christmas season  tradition in our church, and we glad to announce this year's version will take place on Sunday, December 15, beginning at 10:05 am in the Memorial Room on our building's upper level

Each participant will prepare one dozen cookies for each of the other Exchange participants, so we need to know by this Sunday, December 8, if you plan to be part of the event. Tell us Sunday via the sheet posted at Mission Central or by a submission to our CONTACT US page.

  • DECEMBER 21: Christmas caroling

It's a tradition dating back decades: A troupe of people from our church - some who can sing and some who can't! - traveling around the Quad Cities visiting home- and hospital bound people connected to our church. We take lyric books, so you don't have to remember the lyrics, and we sing secular as well as religious favorites, always to the delight of our audiences.

Join us on this year's tour: Saturday, December 21, at 2:00 p.m. We'll leave from the church to share rides, and likely be back at the church by 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. Express your interest on the sheet at Mision Central, or by making submitting the information via our CONTACT US page.

  • DECEMBER 24: Christmas Eve Worship

Join us as we ask the question, what if there were no Christmas? as part of our current sermon series called "What If?..."  The series explores the profound importance of this season by asking what if the things we know happened hadn't happened: What if the wisemen hadn't followed the star? What if the shepherds hadn't dropped what they were doing to rush to see the newborn Jesus? And on Christmas Eve, what if... there were no Christmas?

Our Christmas Eve worship services blend hope, faith, and promise. We invite you to join us at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24.
